Multi Modern Warfare 2

Yeah because all PC gamers are gifts from god to the gaming community and clearly deserve so much more than any other version of the game. Just because people play it on the PC doesn't mean they are owed special benefits of any type.

It's their game, they aren't forcing anyone to play how they you to, they made a game the way they wanted to. People are only forcing themselves to play it.

I just played about an hour or so of third person tactical. Completely reminds me of how GRAW plays and I think it's a great way to level up.

I got 4600 points in one capture the flag match.

I love that mode. I can get 45+ kills in Sabotage on rust, usually.

It is because they are used to getting extra stuff and having more freedom, kinda makes me think PC gamers are spoiled. And when they don't get what they want, a uproar occurs.

Anyone can get that much on any game mode on that map really lol
Especially if you can make it to the very top, you're almost untouchable.

Not even going to touch that flamebait.

PC gamers aren't spoiled, console gamers are treated like fools.

PC gamers aren't spoiled, console gamers are treated like fools.

I'd say that would apply to a good chunk of console gamers. There's also a portion of informed gamers who know exactly what varies between consoles and PC, and the benefit of playing on a couch on a 50" HDTV outweigh the benefits of PC gaming.

The above is my example, but I have more real life friends on the 360 to talk to while playing and I don't hate playing shooters with a controller.

I can see the appeal of PC gaming, but for some people it just isn't super appealing, if that makes any sense.

It's not supposed to be flaimbait. All I see is people bitching and moaning about how they deserve more because they play it on the PC and I want to know why. What I said is what it seems like everyones opinion is to me.

I am a PC gamer, and always will be over a console, but I don't think because I play it on one system that I deserve more things in the game than any other console.

I seriously want to know from a self righteous PC gamer, why they deserve more content or bonuses in game compared to a console. I understand why people could be upset for there not being dedicated servers for the PC, but even that I don't think is that big of a deal, yet all I see is complaining from PC users.

So please, enlighten me as to why the PC deserves more than consoles. Also while you're at it I'd like to know what exactly (other than dedicated servers) that the PC should have that consoles shouldn't, because I have played it on ps3 and PC and there is so much fucking shit in this game I don't think I will ever do it all, why do you need even more just for you?

El Diablo, chill for a second and try to remember this:

Dedicated Servers were a feature in the engine for MW and did not need to be removed from MW2. This is not a feature that wasn't added, it was one that was REMOVED.
Naturally, if you have a popular feature and there's a community developing around it, it's easy to use and has many advantages, you shouldn't remove it.
We're not upset that there aren't dedicated servers in MW2, a lot of PC games don't have them. I don't complain that borderlands doesn't have dedicated servers... much (well, it is really hard to join games in borderlands :argh:). But it just doesn't make any sense to remove them if they were there.
The dedicated servers "hack" is proof of what I've just said btw, it reveals the features that weren't even properly removed. As well as the dev console. And lean. Even if the game isn't balanced for lean.

Ultimately, we don't deserve extra features, we just don't deserve to have established features taken away.

Why are we still talking abour dedicated servers? GET OVER IT! If you didn't like it, you shouldn't have bought the game. Quit your fucking bitching.

The buck has to stop somewhere. They're trying to squeeze more money out of us for less features, I'll bitch all I want thanks.

I didn't mean it like that, I mean the industry has seen how hard it can exploit consoles now that they have DLC and now it's starting to happen to the PC. I don't like it one bit.

Really if you knew the game wasn't going to have dedicated servers, then protest. Don't buy the game. Show them how upset you really are.
Any you gotta remember the gaming industry is a business and whats the main goal of a business? To make money.

MW2 was clearly an experiment on the PC community. MSRP was set at $60... and a lot of people just bought it anyway. With results like these, what sane company would throw away the extra profit they could get? Then there's the whole removing the user-customizations and that opens the door to forced DLC...

It isn't about dedicated servers or IW anymore. As far as I can see, their experiment was a success... It is now about how every other developer chooses to treat the PC community as a result of this experiment.

I think it's general comments like these that fuel the types of reply that El Diablo has given to this thread lately. You may view PC gamers in a different light or different part of the overall community, but I can assure you that big developers/publishers do not see you as being special. You're currently being viewed as an untapped market for things like the $60 price point and paid DLC.

At the end of the day, we are all playing games, no matter what the platform. It just so happens that in this current state of things, the PC gamers are the last to start getting hit with micro-transactions.

As far as the experiment talk goes, I would also disagree with that. I don't see this as being an experiment, but more like a very safe and calculated bet. Just think about it, would you rather make these changes with an average title, or one that is most likely going to go down as the most successful game made to date? You'd clearly run the risk with the more popular title projected to have the bigger sales figures.

With that said, I would also say that a one time occurrence like this is not a pattern. Wait until this happens half-a-dozen times before you see a pattern.

Agree on all your points Abe, well said.

Now to get back to the game I just got my first Nuke :p (just unlocked and equipped it today). Got a few other games where I came close but the match either ended or I ran out of ammo before dying. I think it would be easier to try to get it with Ground War so I might try that later tonight, just so satisfying getting one :)

I gave in and bought it... The campaign was good, but I honestly expected much better. I guess I expected it to be like a new game almost, when really it is just a sequel. It feels almost exactly the same as MW1.

I thought both campaigns were very fun. It's tough to compare sequels to games like CoD4.

The reason is that when you first played four, you had a blast and everything that it did for you was fresh and fun. Once you play it once you become desensitized to it and you'll never get that same feeling back.

I feel the same applies to sequels. You'll get more of the same, but it won't be like your first time through, if that makes any sense.

Yeah that is how it was.
Either way I had a blast playing the campaign. I have been very busy this past week but I'm starting to play this game more now and oh man is it fun.

Oh and I got my MW2 console a couple days ago :)

That's very true. The first Brother's In Arms campaign was awesome while the rest felt repetitive. CoD2's campaign was awesome because of its cinematic narration. Since many of us missed CoD3, there was a long enough break before CoD4. Diablo was epic but Diablo II felt like too much of the same thing.
