PSP HEN Spoofing Firmware Guide

Do you want to prank your friends and spoof firmware?
Well your in the right place.

Requirements:
HEX Editor: Search for it in google
ChickHEN: Download at: Davee's DevSite

Step 1: Download your HEX Editor (WINHex Recommended)
Step 2: Put your PSP in USB Mode.
Step 3: Go to your HEX Editor and open you H.Bin
Step 4: Search for Offset: 5D2C (Thanks Evilmaster)
TIP: Click on ---> If you have WINHex
Step 5: You will see: 5...0.3 C.h.i.c.k.h.e.n. . .
Step 6: Edit them any way you want.
Srep 7: Go back to you PSP and Launch CHICKHen (Or (Insert HEN Name) HEN)
Step 8: Voila! You now have (Insert HEN Name) HEN!

After i edited it, i saved it as h2.bin so i don't overwrite my original.
I transfered h2 onto psp, backed up egghunt.bin, deleted it and changed h2.bin to h.bin and overwrote the one on my psp. But when i try to get into hen, i always get a red screen?? But there is no error log on the root. but after a few attempts, now it just freezes

Decided not to bother and get back to ChickHen R2 original

You need to keep the dots in between the characters.
So:
5...0.3.J.a.m.e.s. . . . = Right
5.03James = Wrong

lots of my friends got fooled cause my firmware is 5.00 m33-6 HAHA

with a 300x

and asked me to downgrade their psp3ks to.. and so i did... downgraded the system information that is :D they downloaded lots of isos... but did not work and i told them epic fail HAHAH

Lol fun to see you guys made a whole topic about it.
I still think 6.66 HEvilN is the best :p

Also please note this only works for the r2 of ChickHEN.
If you want to edit the r1 you want offset: 57B0

Ill look later into removing the reversion number aswell.
Iam not at home right now so do not have super much time.

Did the same today :D I'm going with "5.03 DARKSIDE R2" right now (Yeah, a big Star Wars fan :p) thanks to Evilmaster.

About removing "R2", I couldn't find anything.

I discovered that there are spaces for 14 characters (including space key) before the R2 comes up. Ia lso discovered, after these 14 spaces, in spaces 15 and 16, there were blank spaces no dashes, underscores or full stops. And i guess this is where R2 goes but the value wheres 00 as if there was just a place to put something in. strange huh?

i discovered this after helping a friend get onto hen. I edited the h.bin for a joke but went to the system settings and got this

System version: Jason Sucks CoR2

It was a joke that didn't come out right so i just gave hime plain old

System version: 5.03 ChickHen R2.

Then edited to

System version : 5.03 Jason'sEGG R2
