[RELEASE] 5.03 TIFF Hello World

Gripshift was usermode, but there was a kernel exploit that could be used in it. (Example: Miriam's 5.02 HEN-A) That's why in my post I mentioned "Gripshift kernel exploit". XD

I guess Gripshift exploit could be used with the new kernel exploit to produce a HEN. It would be more stable than the tiff exploit, but reserved to those having the Gripshift UMD and their OFW 5.02 or less

There was an unreleased HEN for Gripshift, but Miriam did not release it because s0nY will patch the kernel exploit the HEN was using. So the public never got that HEN, and we only have usermode for Gripshift.

TIFF may be unstable, but I hope the HEN for it isn't. XD

All TIFF exploits for the PSP are unstable... to launch the hen (Which will be a h.bin) will require several attempts, but once launched it (should) enable many (or all) CFW features, the goal is to launch the unstable TIFF exploit which will in turn disable security to execute an unsigned eboot which will then do the rest

TIFF>EBOOT>Awesomeness

Congrats, looks like I will be getting a PSP3000 then.

And then I get to the point where... will they release PSP4000 in 7 months?

if this thing goes through, probably yes.

My point was that since there is a NEW kernel exploit, Miriam or somebody else (maybe Davee himself) could release a HEN now based on this new kernel exploit AND Gripshift user exploit. Then the first kernel exploit would stay unrevealed and available for future development work.

Nice, but this future HEN is a truly HEN?

I mean, in the GripShift video you can see a full HEN (with a lot of GEN options), loading ISOS, etc. Is the future TIFF exploit a truly full HEN or only a homebrew enabler?

If only is a homebrew enabler...well, you will need a lot of files later to load backups, not all homebrew will have support to it, etc.

Anyways, if you want make a homebrew enabler you need patch the official firmware as a custom firmware does, somebody know this patches without be a custom firmware developer?

Why dont use the GripShift exploit (more stable) with the new kernel exploit and use the Miriam HEN? It is only a idea...later you always can release the TIFF exploit (improved and tuned) for the people that have the PSP in 5.03 or upper firmware.

Found this to be a little more promising....

So after playing around with different combinations of images and the tiff file I found this to be a little bit more promising.

I put the tiff file in the PICTURES folder all by itself. I also put 6 images from the sample pictures folder from Vista in the PSP\PHOTO folder.

I then put the h.bin file in the root just as instructed.

I found that if moving over to photo section on the XMB slowly and not moving down, just go into the folder, it should load the h.bin.

So far I would say this has worked 7 out of 10 times!

My thoughts exactly.
However, they've revealed the TIFF exploit already thus making this point moot.

Miriam retired from the PSP Scene, there is very little chance he will come back to develop the HEN for Version 5.03. The HEN coming this Tuesday does utilize the new kernel exploit by the way.

The 5.03 HEN is very stripped down compared to the M33 series. It will only load kernel and user mode homebrew. ISO Loaders, Popsloader, and other custom firmware tools might be seperate as EBOOTs or not be implemented at all.

Also, there already is a non-Gripshift kernel exploit for the TIFF exploit so there is no need to use what Miriam did. Besides the kernel exploit that is found in Gripshift is used by a select few developers who are doing research on the PSP-3000 so that cannot be made public or s0nY will patch it; which is not good for the developers conducting the research.

lol i just joined this forum to thank everyone involved with this hacking for all their efforts, THANKS!

Hi first of all thanks for this interesting feature, however i seem to be having problems running it on my PSP-2003 (G), it came with OFW 4.05, which i then upgraded to 5.03, I have tried the instructions in the readme file, however when I browse through the pictures, my PSP freezes, the memory card light remains on & it just switches off. Is there something wrong that I might be doing, as other owners of PSP-3001 systems claim that they manage to run this exploit without any problems...
Thanks for your help!

worked on my 88v3 5.02OFW 5x. I will be waiting for the HEN

I've heard that the HEN will not support ISO/CSO. I not really into ISO/CSO but it will be also good to add it and please kindly add at least ps1, snes, nintendo64 emulators? my daughter like playing emulations in my pc and i will love to have those homebrews. Actually im very contented in just reading mangas in my psp, don't really play games in it since the psp monitor is too small for me i prefer PC or laptop in playing games. Bigger screen.

complete HEN please if possible. ISO, emulators, lots of homebrews.
