Freeplay leaking an exploit that isn't his

I don't think anyone sent anything to sony, the Mercury exploit was fixed along with a bunch of other games, including Mercury 2 (which was also exploitable) It was just a coincidence that it happened then (or so I think).

I already contacted a friend work in the past for SCE (but fireup, don't ask me why)

this information is real, this is why i told Freeplay sell itself...

Apparently is not the first time from this guy...

For the PS3 too, about the BD-J exploit...

im pretty sure freeplay wouldn't stoop that low... are you sure your friend couldn't be lying?

How much you know Freeplay ?... (i don't know ever, but i talk with in the past, i don't think so is really like the community)

Concerning my friend is not that kidding person.

Check about the fix exploit BD-J on PS3.

No, but I am sure he stole Prometheus svn's content and that he used work done by others inside it to his own profit.

That I have no reason to doubt.

You don't make sense...

freeplay tried every possible url variations until he found something.
This is an outright lie.
Basically Freeplay stole the exploit.
'Stealing' this exploit would've been hacking into Fanjita's server, planting an authentication file for my PC in it, then bruteforcing paths on the SVN server until I got something.

What happened was that I was given access to the server and I looked at what was there.
You can see him here: http://forums.mformature.net/showpost.php?p=96166&postcount=156 (screenshot saved to make sure he does not suddently edit his post)
admiting to this very fact.
No, what you see there is me saying what the truth actually is.

As I stated in mformature, the amount of work he provided to get it work is 0. Since the exploit was all ready to use and sources were provided in the prometheus svn content he stole.
Right, I definitely didn't do any work on what was released (and what wasn't). No, I hired a small Indonesian child to do it for me.

Either way the developers' community has been warned and have removed him from whatever trusting list he might have been.
Oh, no. Forgive me, O Grand Pubah of the PSP scene.

You don't trust anybody. You keep all your best information in a nice little circle of 'elites' and hold that over people because it gives you a sense of power and importance.
Freeplay it seems was all about get fame from using work that is not his and this I cannot forgive. Hence I am informing the world of his evil deeds.
You're not at all about fame? And evil? Are you for real? Where's your sense of perspective?

I would also like to add that releasing this exploit was pointless and as we have foretold, Sony removed the game from the playstation store less than one hour after it was announced, preventing anyone to purchase the game on the psp go (even if it was already patched in the 6.20 firmware)
Another outright lie, unless he's simply unaware that it's listed under 'A' for "Archer Maclean's Mercury".

As its always been said, crime does not pay, and stealing sources as well as using the theft for your own profit is a crime whether you like it, or not.
You have an odd definition of 'profit'. And of 'stealing'.

P.S. The ifhandle kernel exploit provided in the supplied sources has been fixed since firmware 6.00 so there is no harm in supplying it along with the sources that were initially using it.

....................................................

The mercury exploit was fixed in firmware 6.20. THAT is the ONLY reason I released it. Are you really going to be that hypocritical?

Well according to fanjita, he has logs of Freeplay trying tons of different urls in order to get access to different svn ressources
Again, this is a lie. When we were working on the Gripshift exploit, he set up an SVN repository on his server, and gave me a path to the SVN browser on the web. There was no "trying tons of different urls". It was in plain sight, right there when I opened the link he sent me.

either way it was pretty obvious to anyone that this portion of the svn should have been off limits and not free to be grabbed. Fanjita screwed up with the svn permissions, it does not make it more right to grab the prometheus svn content
Really? How should it have been obvious? He gave me access to a restricted SVN and didn't say anything about not accessing what was on it. Not a word. I assumed that he wanted to give me access to those things. You don't give someone a key to your house if you don't want them to be able to see what's in plain view inside.
It is even less right to use its content even to make a lame youtube video in the first place and make it look like your own work. This is precisely what Freeplay did.
No. It isn't what I did at all. I said from the beginning that it wasn't my exploit.
You miss the point, he should not even have used it, or have it in the first place since it was stolen, let alone make a vid to get more fame out of it
No. Say this as often as you like, but it's not nearly an accurate description of reality.

I'm beginning to think that you're unaware of what 'stolen' means.

You need to shut your fucking mouth. Your "friend" is clearly you, and by "work in the past for SCE" you mean that you're pulling shit out of your ass.

Had this exploit not been patched, I would not have released anything. Ever. But since it was patched, there wasn't any point in keeping it private anymore.

Yes if you want FreePlay, if you want...

You so pathetic man... but anyway, it's your life...

I don't really want to talking with a asshole guy... sorry to disturb your mind.

By the way... you are disturbed, yes it's me..the guy from sony... tss..

I work for some compagny of video games, you think i have time to lie ?

What a fun thread lol Also I had no idea fanjita was even still doing anything.

Stay in your world

im pretty sure your trying to turn this into a giant hate thread for freeplay

the thing is the comment " my friend works for sony" or "i work for sony" is way over used and no one believes anyone who says it anymore

so you might want to make up a better lie....

kynz - cut the crap or you will be banned from the thread, that also goes to anyone else who isn't contributing or is blatantly lying through their teeth

..bullshit..

If you gave someone a key to your house that you trusted, and they made photo copies of your social security info (Wherever it might be) does that give you the right to publish it and then say they wanted you to do it? Same concept.

oh come on. u think this usermode exploit was as important as someone's social security number? and even if it were what's the harm in releasing it after the person's dead!!?

give the guy a break.

what Fanjita and others (who have access to the SVN) shud do is test the other exploits on 6.20. if they work it will prove FreePlay's innocence.

if FreePlay had to sell exploits he would have sold all of them for a lot more profit.

Except that publishing this was absolutely harmless. To extend your metaphor, I've written a social security number on a billboard after the government switched to a new system of tracking social security.

I'm with FreePlay on this on, he has no reason to steal anything. The man is good enough to do his own work, the exploit was patched and then after he released, the way Math was saying it made it seem like FreePlay released the exploit then Sony patched it.
Their is no harm in releasing this. Making a big deal out of nothing. Sony patched it before the exploit was released, so either way this exploit would have been useless.

If anything fanjita should be blamed for making the mistake of having such important work able to be viewed.

That's not the point.

The point is that's not YOUR work, so why would you think it right to release it?

Wait, what? Please, elaborate as to why it's a crime to not release what you did.
