For those of you unsure whether or not to upgrade to 5.03 I suggest you stay on version 4.01.

The Gripshift exploit has been patched by version 5.03 meaning if you upgrade to that to try this proof of concept your placing all your eggs in one basket , Matiaz did promise some awesomness in the next few days but i'm not a gambling man , 2 potential exploits on my PSP sounds a whole lot better than 1.

of course if this exploit results in some kind of kmode access then all the above will be irrelevant.

Ok at the devs : no-one seems to got it running on the TA-088v3 and this is what (most of us) get

Please if you claim you got it running on your "TA-088v3" , I'm quite sure you don't got a TA-088v3 then , because most of us get the thing you see on the video ..

Also notice the "bam" just before it crashes (it's like the speakers explode)


At MaTiAz and other devs : are you going to release a new version fixing this? or will the 3000 version compatible with ta88v3 mobos?

Already tried 30+ times and failed..but I'm pretty sure it works, devs like 'em wouldn't really be jacking around..would they ;)

Its either I am extremely unlucky or my PSP is cursed :cry:

Would be highly obliged if someone could share any algorithm on a way to get this to work..
 
I got it running with my PSP 2004 Date Code: 8C / Serial no. HC3etc. With FW 5.03 its working. I used that Tiff V2. No "bam" sound and i can use turn off/on screen button and change screen contrast, but other buttons dont work.
 
So, is 5.03 required for working?
I've got 4.05 88v3, tried many times (maybe 100+) and that didn't worked :(

Tried about 50+ times and only i got is freeze and shutdown with "bam" ;)
 
I believe to this exploit is working,but never for me - PSP Phat 5.00 M33-6 - everytime if i enter to Photo on MS PSP only hangs - i think this have something with memory card - i run this from Sandisk 2GB.
 
The Slim version didn't work on my TA-088v3. Judging by others in this thread I think it's safe to say that the exploit just doesn't work on this motherboard.

Not a developer here and this might of already been discussed in the 24 pages here but I just wanted to ask if the reason this doesn't work yet on 3000s and maybe the TA-88v3 is because they don't know as much about these boards/CPUs so its harder to utilize the exploit if you dont? It seems to me the exploit is there and working on both TA-88v3 and 3000s due to the freezing just cant get it to actually execute the code yet. Is any of that right?

It wasn't updated to work on the PSP 3K ;)

As far as those who are having issues running it, it does take several tries to get working (one report of 50 tries I believe). If you are unable to run it, help by listing your PSP build (1000,2000,3000), motherboard (TA-XX?) and firmware.

The exploit should work on all motherboards I would think seeing how it is an exploit in the tiff lib, but I'm no dev ;)
