Go to 3.71M33 first, and then go to 5.00m33.

If you are running under 1.50 kernel, then the problem that you are having will happen.

Go to Recovery Menu by holding "R' trigger before / at PSP startup. Then change your kernel to 3.52. Then the update should work.

my psp slim is not restarting after this update (its getting bricked i am using paranoid method to recover it i tried 2 times but i am facing same problem) i am getting blank black screen its not restarting .... pls help me . i am using 4.01 m33-2 cfm pls help me .....

Note:
You must have version 3.52 M33-3 or higher to perform this update.

Installing 5.00 M33-6​

First download the cfw files from here:
Mirror1: http://downloads.exophase.com/109/psp-custom-firmware-500-m336/

Note: users with 5.00 M33 or higher (5.00 M33-2, 5.00 M33-3, etc...), can skip step 2.
1. Copy the UPDATE folder into X:/PSP/GAME
2. Copy the 500.PBP file into the same folder (UPDATE)
3. Execute the update from the XMB menu.
4. Start the update, it looks just like the original Sony update, but it's cfw.
5. After the update finishes, press X and reboot.
6. That's it! you've now got version 5.00 M33-6.

hi I need some help I tried to download the pandora installer but it keeps saying corrupted data no matter how many times I download it.:crying::crying::crying:

Well, if you have Official s0nY firmware, then the Pandora Installer will be corrupt. You have to be on custom firmware (SE, OE, or M33).

EDIT: If you are un-raring the file with WinRAR, try using another program to open the downloaded files.
