Tiff Exploit - HEN Information

Sorry for going a little off-topic, but I would like to inform that Hellcat's Recovery Flasher probably won't work on the 5.03 HEN. The kernel NIDs have changed and I think Recovery Flasher relies on some M33 modules so the PSP-1000 and [non TA-088 V3] PSP-2000 users can't get to custom firmware through that application.

So if anyone was looking for a way of getting custom firmware thorugh their 5.03 HEN using the easy method of Reocvery Flasher, they are out of luck until Hellcat ports the Recovery Flasher to HEN 5.03 kernel.

I`m 100% sure he will update it, if it is needed and possible.

If Hellcats Pandora Installer works, all PSP 1000 and PSP 2000 TA 85v1 owners are quite lucky ;-)

GMT mate xD

glad to see you calmed down and in better mood.
I cant understand how people can be so stupid to piss you off.
it reminds me of the phrase: bite the hand that feeds you.
ppl should be grateful that you're developing a HEN, keeping contact to the community and even study for your exams^^

I will appreciate your work howewer the outcome will be.
I hope that most of the currently available homebrew apps will work or will be made compatible.

I still have 3 questions:

-Will there be a development kit?
-Is it possible to play psp demos from the ps-store without binding them to the ps3 with this hen?
-Are you from GB?

I agree:D.

Even if ISO loaders are not within the HEN its better than having no HEN at all.

Keep it up Davee:w00t:.

You can turn a blind eye to it, but ISO loaders and POPs are ONLY used for piracy in the scene. There are no legal, public ROM ISO's. There was a point in time where a developer allowed eboots to be formatted into an ISO format for booting but that never took off and only resulted in one or two POC ISOs. That leaves just copyrighted material to be run.

Davee should block homebrew emulators as well then, I don't want to be tempted to run GBA/SNES/N64 or any other illegal ROMs

I think that blocking [certain]Homebrew and ISO's would be a dumb idea. We all know that some other dev will just stroll down the block and throw us a cfw or HEN or w/e that will allow the use of the blocked items. Even if it is reverse engineered or w/e, [most]everyone will flock to the version that has no restrictions.

Plus, i doubt you could even block certain homebrew, like emus.

There is no plan to block homebrew with Davee's HEN....

that being said, whenever something new does come out it's pretty true everyone will switch over, but he's doing us a big favor and releasing the first bit and being the first one to enable homebrew on the 3ks!

ty davee, looking forward to the release

Talking of Hens, does anybody know what Matiaz is actually up to with his "awesomeness"? Or did you all beat him to it by finding a way to get the tiff exploit to work on a PSP 3000?
the "awesomeness" Matiaz was talking about is Davee's Kernel exploit. Were you expecting something else ?

on the subject of blocking emulators i will agree, if he has the ability to do so (i dont know much about how this all works) he probably should if he wants to keep up with the whole anti-piracy deal

So, let's hope that sucker makes an update to take care of that.... ;)

NUKED

[strike]Talked right now to Hellcat @ irc://irc.malloc.us/Hellcat

G0l3m> wird der flasher auf der 5.03 hen laufen ?
<G0l3m> ja ok f

Since Davee's going to be adding restrictions to his HEN i wonder if we'll see newer/better ones soon after his release? Any thoughts or anyone know of someone else working on one also? I wonder what that dax guy is up to lol, he always releases something good after being quiet for a long time.

Davee is not adding any restrictions to the soon-to-be-released HEN.

I would work on one myself, given my experience in programming and reverse-engineering, but I have little knowledge of HENs and have even fewer resources to look at to learn about them. :)
