Wow, this is definitely something I didn't expect.

The last time Datel announced something of this level, they couldn't deliver (said they hacked the 3000).

But maybe that was due to the fact that they were worried about legal troubles.

Pretty good stuff here.

Datel Advanced Gaming Technology
wow watch the video here. they all have the cutting edge state of the art equipments there as well as cryptographic engineers. their equipments makes me salivate, and they have reverse engineering department so they are really capable.

is breaking through $ony's protection legal(i know psp scene has been decrypting prx and such but never got a word from $ony)? how far could they go? i read somewhere that cracking a crypto engine is a gray area. im not familiar with the laws of each country.

now where is my God of War cheats?:blush::p:D

so they have a kirk decryption engine? they must have decrypted the kirk then?:scared: or maybe that's just a web page use for ads flavor only.

That page is from YAPSPD by Groepaz here as was mentioned in above post.

That pic also shows a Tab browsing Maxconsole website if you look closely.

And of course they used the scene's information, they even used the pspsdk and toolchain (but still don't credit them).

Probably not much. I guess the best we could do is reverse their cheat code format so that we can write our own codes, thereby being able to write arbritrary values to arbritrary mem.
Or there is a chance we can use this to find exploit on FW or in the actual AR (athough forcing people to buy AR to run homebrew isn't the right approach, apparently :p ).

Anyway, congratulations on Datel for being able to make the dream of the psp scene true. But on the decryption side of things, this doesn't give us any more information than we already knew.

SDLOAD, anyone?

SilverSpring was mentioning doing something similar for the PSP. (Writing our own AR codes by reversing them and then loading our own code.)

Couldy~do you think you could...*cough* upload *cough* the eboot perhaps? Or be a pal and PM me?

Ha. Good luck with that. I don't think anyone bought it just to spread it on the net (unless you're known, and/or helped the scene in the past and present)

You don't expect them to figure out the encryption mechanism of the PSP and be dumb enough to not put some kind of security on the EBOOT, do you?

I'm convinced the eboot will run in "Demo" mode on a psp for which it hasn't been "validated".
The licence key probably only works for one PSP too. People who bought it could maybe confirm that.

Bottom line: download the demo, it'll probably work the same for you.

You can have all the eboot you want.. Because you need to activate by sending you PSP IP Number and SN back to Datel.. The License is tied to what ever PSP you used to activate.. I know because I have 3 types of PSP 1001, 2001 and 3001.... When you activate the license to your PSP that is it no one else can use it.. This is not some lame eboot file.. Hell people tried to do that with the old version of the Action replay and got no where.. I can tell you right now no one going to get this to work outside of paying for it from Datel..

100% correct.

Retail and demo eboot are the same.

The old PSP Action Replay wasn't actually tied to a particular PSP the only reason most people couldn't get the old PSP Action Replay work is because (1) it requires OFW and (2) most of the PSPAR dumps which people uploaded on the internet didn't have a dump of the IPL from the MS. If both of those conditions were met it would run on any PSP-1000/early 2000 with a Pandora battery and compatible firmware.

That is what I mean. They could not get the old one to work even tho they had every thing they needed and like you said (and I know because I own one) it was not tied to any PSP either.. So if you can not get some thing to work that was easier to do, then the new one is going to be even hard to do or to a point not worth the time..
